# Operating Procedures

### 1. Installation Checklist <a href="#toc42537831" id="toc42537831"></a>

* [ ] Ensure that the PRS-M3DTEX is not damaged.
* [ ] Check that the connector on the electronics module is clean and undamaged.
* [ ] Ensure the DJI M3D/T PSDK port is clear of damage or debris.
* [ ] Ensure the FTS Sleeve is installed in the DJI M3D/T and that the clips on the FTS sleeve are locked
* [ ] Ensure the battery is installed in the FTS Sleeve and that the clips on the battery are locked.
* [ ] Plug in the PRS-M3DTEX to the top DJI M3D/T USB-C connector.
* [ ] Ensure the mounting screws (QTY4) are properly secured, and the strap is installed correctly around the arms of the DJI M3D/T as outlined in the installation instructions.

{% hint style="danger" %}
DO NOT USE PROPELLER GUARDS WHEN USING THE PRS-M3DTEX, AS THIS WILL RESULT IN INTERFERENCE BETWEEN THE PRS-M3DTEX AND THE PROPELLERS.
{% endhint %}

### 2. Pre-Flight FTS Check

* The PRS-M3DTEX performs an automatic pre-flight FTS diagnostic check on each startup of the system
* The diagnostic verifies that the FTS functionality is operational without shutting down the drone.
* If the diagnostic fails, the PRS will send a "WARNING: EFTS Diagnose Failed" message to the DJI transmitter and/or Flight Hub 2 PSDK Window.
* If the diagnostic passes, there will no messages about the Diagnostic.

### 3. Pre-Flight Checklist <a href="#toc42537832" id="toc42537832"></a>

* [ ] Perform the DJI M3D/T pre-flight checks.
* [ ] Verify and note any high-power RF emitters in the operational volume.
* [ ] Ensure the DJI M3D/T is in the appropriate flight mode.
* [ ] Ensure the DJI M3D/T is level in the takeoff location.
* [ ] Turn on the PRS-M3DTEX by powering on the DJI M3D/T.

{% hint style="danger" %}
DO NOT HANDLE OR MOVE THE DJI M3D/T ONCE THE PRS-M3DTEX IS TURNED ON UNLESS CALIBRATING EITHER THE PRS-M3DTEX IMU OR THE DJI M3D/T COMPASS. REFER TO THE "[CALIBRATION PROCESSES](/prs-m3dtex-for-dji-dock2/prs-m3dtex-for-dji-m3d-and-m3td/calibration-processes.md)" SECTION FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO CALIBRATE EACH OF THESE COMPONENTS.
{% endhint %}

* [ ] Move at least five (5) meters away from the DJI M3D/T.
* [ ] Wait for successful initialization.
* [ ] Ensure that the PSDK is connected.
* [ ] Ensure NO ERRORS are present using the PSDK info screen on the DJI M3D/T transmitter.
* [ ] Arm the MTD (Toggle the ARM button).
* [ ] Ensure that you takeoff within the Geofence that was transferred to the PRS.
* [ ] Ensure the DJI M3D/T downward-facing sensors are enabled.
* [ ] Takeoff and climb to the minimum deployable altitude.

{% hint style="danger" %}
AUTO-TRIGGER WILL ONLY ARM ONCE AN ALTITUDE OF 34 METERS (111.15 FT) IS REACHED. VERIFY THE ARM STATUS ON THE PSDK TEXT WINDOW \[ARMED: ATS, GEOFENCE].
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="danger" %}
MANUAL TRIGGER DEVICE CAN ONLY BE ARMED ONCE AN ALTITUDE OF 5 METRES (16.4 FT) IS REACHED
{% endhint %}

### 4. In-Flight Checklist

{% hint style="danger" %}
THE MINIMUM DEPLOYABLE ALTITUDE FOR THE PRS-M3DTEX IS 34.8 METERS. WHEN OPERATING OVER PEOPLE, DO NOT FLY BELOW THE 34.8 METERS (114.17 FEET). IF THE PRS IS DEPLOYED BELOW THE MDA, AVSS DOES NOT WARRANT THE PRS WILL PERFORM AS INTENDED.
{% endhint %}

* [ ] Always fly in Normal Mode (N-Mode), Mission Mode, or Low-Speed Mode (T-Mode).
* [ ] Fly in a safe and controlled manner.
* [ ] Avoid flying over people if unnecessary.
* [ ] Monitor the PRS status throughout the flight.

### 5. Landing Checklist <a href="#toc42537834" id="toc42537834"></a>

* [ ] Land the DJI M3D/T gently on a level surface at a safe distance from people.
* [ ] The ATS should be temporarily disabled when the Drone is within five (5) meters (16 feet) of the ground and will be indicated by the "GROUND DETECTED!" message in the PSDK text window. The ATS should disarm approximately five (5) seconds after landing. The Drone Transmitter will indicate when the ATS disarms. Do not approach the Drone until the ATS is disarmed. If the ATS does not disarm ten (10) seconds after landing, then power off the drone without moving the drone and ensure the PRS is powered off.
* [ ] Check for the "DISARMED" message in the PSDK text window on the Drone Transmitter.
* [ ] Once the PRS-M3DTEX is disarmed, turn off the DJI M3D/T.
* [ ] After the DJI M3D/T is off, the PRS-M3DTEX will turn off after a few seconds.

{% hint style="danger" %}
ENSURE THE PRS-M3DTEX LED IS OFF BEFORE HANDLING THE DJI M3D/T.
{% endhint %}

### 6. Post-Flight Checklist (No Deployment) <a href="#toc42537835" id="toc42537835"></a>

* [ ] DO NOT STAND DIRECTLY OVER THE PRS-M3DTEX WHEN APPROACHING THE DJI M3D/T.
* [ ] Ensure the PRS-M3DTEX is disarmed before approaching the DJI M3D/T.
* [ ] Turn off the DJI M3D/T and PRS-M3DTEX BEFORE handling the DJI M3D/T.
* [ ] Inspect the PRS-M3DTEX and DJI M3D/T for damage.

### 7. Deployment Checklist <a href="#toc42537836" id="toc42537836"></a>

* [ ] If necessary, the system can be deployed using the MTD.
* [ ] If possible, fly over a safe area free of people, cars, or obstacles.
* [ ] Press and hold the trigger button on the MTD (3 seconds if on the main screen, once if on a custom button).
* [ ] Visually follow the DJI M3D/T’s descent to the ground.

### 8. Post-Flight Checklist (With Deployment) <a href="#toc39788550" id="toc39788550"></a>

* [ ] Hold the parachute by the lines and fold the canopy to prevent wind from inadvertently inflating the parachute.
* [ ] Turn off the PRS-M3DTEX.
* [ ] Turn off the DJI M3D/T.
* [ ] Take ground photos and videos of the Drone and PRS on the ground.
* [ ] Disconnect the PRS-M3DTEX from the DJI M3D/T.
* [ ] Verify that no components are missing.
